Don't delay - time limits DO APPLY for PPI claims

Have you had your claim for a PPI refund turned down? Thinking about asking the Financial Ombudsman Service take a look at it? Well don't hang about... if you don't get your rejected claim for a PPI refund over to the FOS within 6 months, they'll refuse to take a look at it and tell you it's 'time barred'. No wonder the banks are turning away so many legitimate claims... they are hoping that this PPI time limit will mean thousands are unable to claim whats rightfully owed to them.

Last year, a high profile Claims Management Company had one of their television adverts banned by the advertising authorities. The reason? It was because the CMC had stated that 'time limits apply' when it comes to claiming back mis-sold PPI. However, UK Money Solutions are perplexed over the issue as to why the CMC's advert was banned - because time limits DO APPLY. If you don't get your rejected claim to the FOS within 6 months, they will turn away your claim, no matter how legitimate it may be.

When a claim for mis-sold payment protection insurance gets rejected by the banks, the claimant is given the option to allow the Financial Ombudsman Service to take an impartial look at the claim in order to adjudicate as to whether the PPI was mis-sold or not. However, the claimant is required to fill in lengthy, time-consuming forms that ask a multitude of questions about the sale of the financial product, many of such details have been forgotten by the claimant because it all took place so long ago.

The FOS forms are daunting enough to put many people off - but those who do want to go through with using the FOS adjudication system must get all the details together about how the product was sold and their circumstances at the time, fully complete every lengthy section of two sets of forms, and then get them submitted - all within 6 months of the creditors rejection letter to avoid having their claim 'time barred'. Not having received the creditors rejection letter is not an excuse that the FOS will accept as a legitimate reason for not sending the forms within 6 months.

If you are frustrated at the banks lack of co-operation in dealing with your claim, if you've been rejected when you know you were mis-sold your PPI product, or if you've just had your FOS package hit your doormat with a thud and can't be bothered filling in all those forms, then contact UK Money Solutions.
